What are the WVIU Radio Music Awards?
The WVIU Radio Music Awards (WMAs) are an annual November celebration of independent Christian and Gospel music. WVIU recognizes artists and other creatives whose work glorifies God and serves people through music and ministry.
How do I accept a nomination?
If WVIU emails you a nomination, respond using the confirmation method in that email by its stated deadline. A nomination is not accepted simply because an artist sees the email, shares it, or appears on a preliminary list. Follow the instructions in the official WVIU message.
What if I miss a nomination or follow-up deadline?
Nominees must respond to the nomination email and complete any required follow-up steps by the time frames stated in WVIU’s emails. Missing a required deadline results in automatic disqualification from that award consideration. WVIU cannot present an honor that has not been acknowledged and accepted, or complete arrangements for a nominee who has not responded. Check your inbox and spam folder, and reply promptly to official WVIU correspondence.
When can listeners vote?
The 2026 ballot opens October 1 and closes November 5, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central time. Voters sign up with their name, cell number, email address, and the artist who referred them or whom they came to support, then choose one nominee in each available category.
How are winners and the special artist feature determined?
Valid votes determine the winner in each voting category. Separately, the artist credited with the most valid sign-ups receives a WVIU Web Radio interview and a professionally written article from ToriTellem PR Associates. Choosing an artist on the sign-up form credits a referral; it does not cast a category vote. WVIU may review duplicate or fraudulent activity before finalizing results.
Where and when is the ceremony?
The 2026 awards ceremony is planned for November 14. WVIU traditionally presents the awards at a live, family-friendly, faith-centered event connected with the FOFMI World Convention and Interfaith University Graduation Ceremony. Exact time, location, attendance, presentation, and participation details are provided in official WVIU correspondence.
Will every nominee perform or receive an award?
No. Nominations recognize an artist’s work but do not guarantee a performance, appearance, or award. Live performances and special guests vary by year. Award presentation and final details are coordinated by the WVIU leadership team.
